Police Encounter: Blinkit delivery boy accused of sexual assault in Greater Noida

In a harrowing incident in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, a delivery boy associated with the Blinkit company was arrested following an encounter with the police. The accused, identified as Sumit Sharma, was accused of attempting to rape a woman in her flat while she was alone.

The incident occurred at Supertech Ecovillage 1 Society in Greater Noida West. The delivery boy had gone to the woman's residence to deliver goods, taking advantage of her being alone at the time, and attempted to rape her. The woman raised an alarm, leading to people gathering at the scene. Following the woman's report to the police, an investigation was initiated.

The police located Sumit Sharma, and during his arrest, he managed to snatch a gun from the police. In self-defense, the police fired, injuring the accused in the leg. The police successfully arrested him and seized the firearm. The accused, Sumit Sharma, has been admitted to a hospital for treatment. Reports suggest that his injury is not severe, and he is currently out of danger.
